KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) umpires received a big boost when local manufacturer Let’s Play Performance came on board as their apparel sponsor recently.
This is the first time in history that Malaysian umpires have been sponsored with t-shirts and sweatshirts to use when officiating matches.
MHC umpires committee chairman Ranjit Singh and MHC chief executive officer Nishel Kumar received the sponsorship from Let’s Play Performance’s general manager Hairul Azmer Yusop.
“We have a strong tradition of having umpires at the world level, and we hope this sponsorship from Let’s Play Performance will inspire the next generation of umpires to be more confident and follow in the footsteps of those who have achieved glory before them,” said Ranjit.
Hairul said: “Our sponsorship is complete, as we have even included a travel kit to help the umpires be more confident when carrying out their duties.”
Also present were MHC umpires committee deputy chairman Ravinderpal Singh and MHC umpires committee secretary Jaswant Singh.
Meanwhile, MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal handed out RM10,000 in administration grants to 16 members, of which 14 were state affiliates, as well as two associates.
